Tesco’s Local Community Grant Scheme

Bags of Help

is Tesco’s Local Community Grant Scheme where the money raised by the carrier bag charge in Tesco stores is being used to fund thousands of community projects across the UK.

We are delighted to advise that our application to the Grant Scheme project was successful and will be put forward to a customer vote in Tesco Express stores (excludes large Extra stores) during July & August 2018.
What happens next?

Our project along with the other two successful projects in our region will go forward to a vote in Tesco stores where customers will decide the outcome by voting for their favourite project each time they shop by just ASKING for a token and placing it in the slot labelled Just Good Friends. Voting will take place from Sunday 1st July to Friday 31st August and we will be notified at the end of September 2018 confirming the amount of funding we will receive.

The project with the highest number of votes across our region will receive £4,000 (the amount that was requested up to this value), the second placed project £2,000 (the amount that was requested up to this value), and the third placed project £1,000. To re-iterate, if we are first in the vote, we will receive the amount that we requested in our application.

Pass this on to your families and friends to help us get maximum votes!

For member Christine Howe it was to the chance dance with a star from BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing.
